REVOLVER. Cal. 22 LR S# 201866. Barrel is 4 5/8" without "INC." in address having serrated blade front sight; frame mounted rear sight is dovetailed windage adjustable sight having square notch and retaining screw under top strap (only Single-Six variation to have this non-friction retention method). Made 1956 (1956-1962 for all Lightweight variations) with natural finished alloy cylinder frame, black anodized alloy XR3 grip frame, Martin hard coated brownish bronze toned fluted cylinder plus checkered hard rubber grips (distinct brown tone on right and slight brown tone on left) having black eagle medallions. All Lightweight variations are in the 200000 serial number range; 200001 to 212534. Besides the Tri-Color, there was a LWAC (all blue with alloy cylinder) and a LWSC (all blue with steel cylinder); within these 3 major variations are minor sub variants depending on loading gate, base pins and base pin latches ejector housings, grip frames, ejector rods and grips; some even marked "S" for "Second". Very early (#1866) example with steel short throw ejector housing, serrated ejector rod head, flat loading gate, narrow band base pin, non drilled through base pin latch and "skinny" trigger (plum hued as is hammer). Retains original lockwork; has not had factory safety recall update. Production canceled due to unenthusiastic buyer reception due to misconceived views of alloy durability and the fact that Ruger had backorders for every steel Single-Six they could produce. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original black wreath factory box and shipping sleeve both numbered 212313. Both boxes in remarkable, top collector condition; even has original brown waxed paper (no manual). Very unusual to see a top conditioned box and almost unheard of to have the shipper too. CONDITION: Overall condition is about near excellent with just a trace of firing residue. Martin hard coat has extremely light bright spots at beginning of cylinder notch leads. Balance is near excellent, top collector condition to include bore and grips. CURIO (23-6632). $2500-3500.
