Cal. 44 Mag. S# 3913. Bbl. 18 1/2" with banded front sight having early production white inserted sourdough front sight and folding leaf rear with vertical white line below sighting notch. Mfg. 1962 (1961-1985); very early model that is one of the first to not have "Deerstalker" marks that was on the first models numbered up to number 3861. Walnut stock with back slant cut forend as made by Overton. Anodized alloy carbine buttplate rather than Celcon black plastic used on later examples. Receiver has alloy screw attached cartridge guide rather than riveted in steel guides used in later models. An earlier example that does not have the magazine cartridge release button. CONDITION: barrel has spots of light oxidation with only an occasional spot on the receiver. Stock looks fine but left side of butt area has some circular spots of finish loss. Near excellent trigger guard assembly, barrel band, front sight and bore. (25-3338/NW). CURIO. $600-800.
