ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 7.62x38mmR Nagant. S# B472. Bbl. 4 1/2". Model 1895 Nagant double action revolver mfg. at the Tula arsenal in 1939. Left side of the frame is marked with an arrow within a star above "1939", with small Russian arsenal proofs present overall. No visible import markings. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, with checkered wood panels on the front and rear grip straps. Dovetailed blade front sight with U-notch rear sight on frame. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sideplate, and bbl. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, showing light to mild edge wear, areas of wear and thinning (primarily on the bbl., ejector rod, and cyl.), as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered small spots of dark pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in SA and DA. Grips show some smoothing, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-3732/MLW). CURIO. $200-400.
