DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.62mm Nagant. S# V8896. Bbl. 4 1/2". Model 1895 Nagant double action revolver mfg. at the Tula arsenal in 1940. Left side of the frame exhibits an R guns import mark (and importer applied S#) above a Tula arrow within a star arsenal insignia and "1940", with various Russian proofs present overall. Metal components exhibit an arsenal reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, with a checkered wood panel also present on the front and rear grip straps. Dovetailed blade front sight with frame "U" notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching via the arsenal applied S# "(2 CYRILLIC CHARACTERS) 256" and include the frame, sideplate, trigger guard, cyl., and wood grip strap panel. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather pebble grain holster with cleaning rod. Interior of closure flap exhibits an illegible boxed ink stamp. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, showing few spots of light edge wear, as well as a few spots of light pitting beneath the bluing. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in SA and DA. Grips are very good overall. Holster is very good to excellent.
