CARTRIDGE BELT. A massive leather holster manufactured by S. C. Gallup of Pueblo, Colorado prior to 1892 when he formed a partnership with R. T. Frazier and changed the name of his company. The holster is 14 1/2" top to bottom and 5 3/4" across at the belt loop. There are 3 double leather star conchos down the butt edge of the holster and the lower skirt is marked "S. C. GALLUP MAKER PUEBLO, COL." in an oval. The belt measures 47" in length and 2 1/2" wide with 32 loops for .44 or .45 caliber ammunition. The billet appears to have a piece added to accommodate a larger waistline. The belt also bears an oval mark that reads "S. C. GALLUP MAKER PUEBLO, COL.". CONDITION: the holster generally show ample use but remains solid and pliable. The belt shows moderate to heavy wear but is still substantially solid. (02-25503/BF). $1200-2000.
