1815. Cal. 48. NSN. 53" Overall. Bbl. 37" oct. w/ fixed iron notch rear sight & brass blade front sight, stamped “S. COGSWELL / TROY”. Scarce New York made long rifle in Pennsylvania style, brass mounted, 4 piece pierced patch box, “ASHMORE” trade lock, silver crescent moon inset on cheekpiece w/ sm. void rectangular thumbplate. CONDITION: good to very good overall, bbl. & lock have dark iron patina w/ good markings. Brass has medium mustard patina. Stock is refinished w/ several glued insets & break repair under lock. Mechanically fine w/ good rifled bore. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of John "Tim" Breth Jr. (01-17780/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
