PISTOL. Cal. 54. NSN. Bbl 9 1/16". Brass front sight mounted on front strap of dbl bbl band. Top of bbl is stamped "S.N.Y.". Left side is marked "P" over "US". Lock has "S. NORTH MIDDLETON CT" markings around an American eagle. Walnut stock has iron fittings. Left side of stock forward of the sideplate has hand carved initials "H.M." with "1815" date carved left of top strap. Left ear has partially legible oval cartouche. Replacement hickory ramrod with slotted and threaded tip. CONDITION: metal has faded to brown with scrape marks around the flash hole. Sound lock. Stock has an age darkened appearance showing handling marks and is cracked in front of lock and in front of the trigger plate. Dark pitted bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis.
