Cal. 44 S&W Russian. S# 44462. Bbl. 6 1/2" with pinned half moon blade sight plus notch in barrel latch at rear. Barrel rib has patent markings with last date of 1880. Mfg. 1881-1913 yet all frames made prior to 1899 being categorized as antiques. Total production of 53,590 units numbered 1-54668. Blued finish with vivid case colors on trigger and hammer. Often referred to as New Model Navy No. 3. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, barrel latch, cylinder and its checkered hard rubber grips. Fluted cylinder of double lock type is from later production measuring 1 9/16" in length. CONDITION: good plus overall appearance with factory quality refinish being glossy and bright but having pepper oxidation throughout. Especially nice case colors and near excellent, bright shiny bore. Light hand wear to grips. Three small notch like marks on left edge of butt that do not interfere with the grips. Solid barrel lock up with very minimal perceived movement. Proper cylinder timing on 5 of 6 chambers; very slightly "off" on one.
