Cal. 303 Savage. S# 73.458. Bbl. 26" tapered rnd. Lyman No. 4 ivory bead hunting front sight w/ 2 folding leaf rear sight & combination tang sight. Action features rotary mag. w/ left side viewing window, case colored lever & bent tab safety. Schnabel tipped walnut forearm & straight grip perch belly walnut stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. Mfg. 1909, the first year of takedown production. CONDITION: 30% dull blue fading to gray showing light corrosion. Lever retains traces of case colors in protected areas. Wood has worn finish w/ numerous dents, scratches & marks. Stock has a sm. crack right of top tang. Sound action. Lightly worn bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Jack Verret Sr. (22-806/DS).
