A scarce and much sought after 1905-1906 United States experimental cavalry saber with an overall length of 40 1/2" and a blade length of 32". The blade has a single fuller and is marked on the ricasso " S A (flaming bomb) 1906 " and "14". The "14" indicates this was the 14th example of 157 made at the Springfield Armory in 1906. Iron expanded guard with wire wrapped fish skin grips. Wooden scabbard covered in leather. There is a leather saber knot attached to the hilt. CONDITION: blade shows areas of factory polish.
