8 1/8" bright fullered. 12 5/8" overall. Bayonet is marked on right ricasso w/ "T" in triangle indicating acceptance by Ensign Nathan C. Twining. Pommel is marked w/ "9939", likely to match rifle. Straight crossguard w/ muzzle loop. Smooth walnut grips secured by two rivets. Black leather scabbard w/ blued steel tip & throat. Leather frog w/ brass belt hook. Frog is also marked w/ the triangle "T" acceptance mark. CONDITION: lightly worn blade has scattered spots of peppery oxidation. Blade has been sharpened. Balance of metal has areas of light oxidation & wear. Grips have moderate wear & handling marks. Scabbard is in very good condition w/ scattered handling marks. Stitching is tight. Tip & throat retain a large percentage of their original blue. (02-24537-16/RW). NON-GUN. $300-500.
