Around 29,000 of these Quality Hardware contract carbines had receivers produced by Union Switch and Signal and were marked UN-QUALITY. Adjustable aperture rear sight marked "H" in shield. "R" marked milled blade front sight with protective ears. Barrel band with bayonet lug is marked "AI". 6 o'clock slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "IO". Fabricated trigger housing marked "-U-". Rotary safety. Magazine release marked "WA". Straight cut hammer ".U.". Recoil plate is "W". Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked "W" in sling slot and on right side with "crossed cannons". Two rivet wide groove handguard marked "S-HB". MAGS: 1-15 rd."U". CONDITION: Stock set has moderately worn original finish with scattered handling marks. Metal has most of its original finish on the receiver, barrel and bolt with light wear and handling marks. Very good shiny bore. PROVENANCE: from The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner.
