Cal. 9mm Glisenti. S# 301346. Bbl. 3 3/4". The Beretta Model 1923 is one of the most charismatic of Beretta's early pistols with a production of 10,000 units, of which 3,000 were directed to the Italian Army. This example, a standard military issue, has its open top slide marked on the left side with a 3-line address referencing the mfg. and model. Safety detents marked with "F/S'. Left tang with the crown surmounted "RE" as indicative of army issue. The full S# appears on the right side of the slide and frame, with matching digits on the right side of the bbl. at chamber. Fitted with sheet metal grips with an encircled "PB" in the upper field, the balance vertically serrated. Fixed lanyard loop on left side. Bottom mag. release. Correct mag. with vertically elongated ports on each side and a detachable floorplate. MAGS: 1 7-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correct green military flap holster. CONDITION: approx. 80-85% original blue with holster wear as one would expect from a pistol that has seem moderate/heavy use, particularly noticeable is a thin patch along the left rear of the slide where it would have been in contact with the holster. Bright bore, light erosions, shallow rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Excellent original holster, with supple leather and no suggestion of repaired stitching. (25-3432/LMA). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
