P.38 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 3285d. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1944. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Mauser's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "byf/ 44", and the S#, with 2 Mauser Eagle/WaA135 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Frame (including frame small parts) and slide exhibit a phosphate finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved black Polymid 6 grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd. marked with a Mauser Eagle/WaA135 proof on the spine. CONDITION: frame and slide retain the majority of their original finish, exhibiting some light edge wear and a few spots of oxidation, with the finish having darkened overall. Right side of the slide exhibits scattered spots of age related discoloration, with some spots of light to mild pitting. Bbl. retains the majority of its original blue finish, showing some light edge wear, with consistent light to mild pitting present on the right side. Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of mild dark pitting and surface oxidation (primarily towards the muzzle), while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the safety / decocking lever. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-4585).
