Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 1396. Bbl. 5 1/8". Mfg. 1912-1915; approx. 1,000 units observed in 1200 & 1300 S# range. Seldom encountered blow back model unofficially used by German officers & listed by all references as "scarce". Extremely stiff spring such that it has cocking lever on top of receiver. Border checkered hard rubber grips w/ oval logo at top plus "2" on back of each. Crown "N" proofs visible on top of receiver, bbl. shroud, frame & bbl. "1396" on underside of cocking lever, receiver (behind pivot on bottom), breech block, top of frame forward of magwell plus "396" on bbl. Left rear of frame under grip adjacent to backstrap numbered "11221". Coarse checkered cocking knob & safety lever. Fine wave pattern on top of cocking lever. Face of trigger wider than body; integral unit not add on. Bottom rear mag. latch & lanyard loop on left bottom rear. Mfg. as modified continuation of Model 1907 that was mfg. 1907-1915; 250,000 plus units. MAGS: 1 good 7 rd. w/ body wear & unit marking "169.II." on bottom of base. CONDITION: good to very good appearance w/ hand wear most noticeable on front strap along w/ like wear to grips. Light cleaned peppery oxidation showing mostly on left side of bbl. shroud. Left recess panel has some prior marking that has been abrasive removed leaving slight tint of heat discoloration. Thinning at muzzle & high points; right side best appearing. Near excellent bore.
