POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH TANGENT REAR SIGHT. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 51662. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol, mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale while under early German occupation during World War II. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE" above "BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the slotted frame is stamped with an Eagle/WaA613 acceptance proof on the forward trigger guard web. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl. and rear sight leaf, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which feature read moisture barrier paint on their interiors. Blade front sight with tangent rear sight graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one 13-rd. mag. marked with an Eagle/WaA613 proof on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning, some spots of light surface oxidation and pitting, as well as small scattered splotches of finish loss overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light to mild smoothing, as well as a few minor marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: from the estate collection of Charles Wagner.
