Cal. 30 Carb. S# 109402. Bbl. 18". Early production M1 Carbine. Receiver not marked w/ ordinance “bomb”. L type aperture rear sight; receiver has stake marks on both sides of dovetail. Sight marked only on right side w/ “B”. Sight leaf & blade front sight w/ protective ears are unmarked. Bbl. marked w/ “W” approx. 1 3/4" behind front sight plus have “WP” proof 5 1/2" behind front sight. Receiver made w/ separate operating spring tube. Unmarked recoil plate. Narrow bbl. band w/ rectangular swivel opening. Swivel marked “UI”. Straight cut slide marked “PI”. Flat bolt marked “W”. Milled trigger guard marked “W”. Push button safety. Mag. catch marked “W”. Straight cut hammer marked “W”. Walnut stock set; oval cut high wood stock marked w/ partially legible “W” in sling slot. 2 Rivet hand guard marked “BR”. MAGS: NONE. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear & handling marks throughout w/ added finish; receiver is turned over all gray w/ oxidation & moderate pitting throughout. Bbl. has worn original finish turning patina. Bbl. has scattered fine pitting but is shiny w/ strong lands. (20-3624/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
