PISTOL REFINISHED. Cal. 9mm Luger S# 727. An early example of this contract was for about 3,000 pistols made in 1937. It has a distinctive "E.V." mark on the back of the frame; otherwise, it is of the standard configuration with a tangent rear sight and a frame slotted for a shoulder stock. Typical FN markings are on the slide, and usual Belgian commercial proofs are present on the slide, frame, and barrel. Checkered walnut grips. MAG: 1 refinished 13 rd. with split tail base and aluminum follower. CONDITION: very good; refinished. Metal retains nearly all later tank re-blue over the light pitting, as noted at usual wear points. Grips were refinished, with checkering re-cut. Bore is good; dark in the grooves. Mechanically good. PROVENANCE: the collection of Curtis H. Halvorson. (23-5807/MGM). CURIO. $900-1,400.
