NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 3203. This revolver made right after the Civil War & is difficult to find in original percussion, as most were factory converted to 38 caliber cartridge. This fine example is in standard configuration, 6.5" octagonal barrel with 2-line marking "MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON'S, ILION, N.Y. / RIDER'S PT. AUG. 17, 1858, MAY 3, 1859", German silver round blade front sight, blue & case colored finish, varnished walnut grips. CONDITION: fine overall, barrel & cylinder retain much of their original bright blue with flaking, frame has traces of blue and overall toned patina, hammer retains some muted case colors, trigger has about half its original fire blue. Grips are well fit retaining about 90% original factory varnish. Mechanics are fine, bright crisp rifled bore. (01-28523/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,000-2,000.
