Cal. 8mm Mauser. # 9370b. Bbl. 21 3/4" threaded. Blade front sight w/ hood. Rear sight ladder is missing. Scarce Gustloff made G43 WW2 rifle assembled at Buchenwald. The Buchenwald facility was destroyed by an RAF raid in August 1944 ceasing production. Left side of rear sight base is marked w/ a star, "bcd", serial number & "G43". Stamped matching numbers on bolt carrier, stock, bolt body & firing pin housing. Matching electro pencil numbers on locking lugs & gas piston. Blued & phosphate finishes. Laminated stock set w/ left side sling provisions. Left side of butt has two eagle "749" Waffenamts. Underside of butt has one eagle "749" Waffenamt behind serial number. No cleaning rod present. MAGS: 3-10 rd. Two mags are coded "gcb" & one is coded "aye". CONDITION: handguard shows a few long laminate cracks, stock set otherwise shows a few chips, a couple laminate cracks behind trigger guard, scattered dings & handling wear. Metal retains 60% phosphate & blue w/ some tool marks on nosecap, scattered thinning, edge wear, fading & light oxidation. Very good bright bore w/ strong rifling.
