SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 245PZ50696. Bbl. 4 5/8". 1 of only approx. 1,500 Hi Power semi-automatic pistols chambered in 7.65x21mm Parabellum mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale and subsequently imported into the U.S.. While originally mfg. for the European commercial market, approx. 1,500 Hi Power pistols chambered in 7.65mm were sold to U.S. importers by FN as a means to reduce inventory. This example, mfg. in 1981, is marked with Browning's importer information on the left side of the slide, with "MADE IN BELGIUM/ BY FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL" marked on the right. Right side of the forward trigger guard web exhibits Belgian commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the 2-piece bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a flat rib, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight, and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame and bbl. MAGS: 2 blued 13-rd. with blued button pattern floorplate. Mags. are marked "CAL.7.65m/mP./ ONLY" on the spine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching Browning cardboard box, containing its matching styrofoam insert, 1 spare mag., and a steel cleaning rod. This example is also accompanied by a factory letter indicating that this example was sold for $300.00 to Ron Shirks Shooters Supply in Lebandon, PA (Invoice #160122G) on June 26th of 1986. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear on the forward edges of the slide, with a few superficial handling marks present overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent overall. Box exhibits wear overall, with tearing at corners and taped repairs present along the edges of the end flaps. A very nice example of a rare Hi Power pistol chambered in 7.65x21mm Parabellum. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Jon Thomas, Gunsport, LTD. (25-1136/MLW). MODERN. (25-1136/MLW). MODERN. $700-1,000.
