SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 15509. Bbl. 4 7/8". Model HP (Heerespistole "Army Pistol") semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther for commercial sales. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of the slide, bbl., and locking block exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide (top), bbl., as well as the locking block. Hammer is a post-war phosphate finished replacement and safety lever is an aftermarket replacement. MAGS: 1 late war 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued hammer, safety lever, and safety hammer lowering lever (all possibly original to the HP pistol series). CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original high polish factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Very bright bore exhibiting what appears to be light to mild pitting and/or hardened grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. A very attractive example of a Walther HP pistol. (24-7096/MLW). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
