KNUCKLE-DUSTER REVOLVER. Cal. 32RF. S# 18415. Bbl. 2". It is estimated that about 360 of these revolvers were made around 1883. The left side of the 2" round barrel is marked "REIDS NEW MODEL 32" & "MY FRIEND." All metal grip frames with spur triggers and large rings are nickel-plated and engraved with a large, open-shaded scroll. A five-shot cylinder is fluted. A loading port is on the right side of the frame. S# is on the bottom of the ring, with matching last two digits on the cylinder and a distinctive cylinder pin held by a latch. CONDITION: very fine, retaining over 85% of the original plating, with some flaking evident in the engraving and a near latch on the left side. The cylinder shows some scratches and scattered flaking. Bore is very fine. Mechanically, it is fair; however, the cylinder does not lock in place. (01-24401/MGM). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
