Cal. 44. S# 468. Bbl. 8" oct. w/ sm. inset blade sight. Popular, privately purchased open frame army revolver were carried by members of several Ohio cavalry units early war. Bbl. marked "B. F. JOSLYN / PAT'D MAY 4TH 1858". CONDITION: very good overall. Triggerguard plate retains most of its bright fire blue. Balance of gun is gray/bright patina w/ light pitting. Checkered 2-piece walnut grips attached w/ 2 screws have hand worn patina & cosmetic blemishes. Mechanically fine w/ well defined rifled bore. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B. Taylor.
