MAUSER MODEL 1934 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 545579. Bbl. 3 3/8". Model 1934 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser, procured by the Kriegsmarine, and subsequently retained for Norwegian police use after the conclusion of World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the S# within a milled panel, followed by Mauser's mfg. information, with Cal. 7,65 D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the top. Top left of the slide exhibits a milled panel that reads "POLITI (NORWEGIAN COAT OF ARMS) Nr. 4692", indicating post-war Norwegian police use. Top rear of the slide and right side of the forward bbl. lug exhibit a German double crowned "U" commercial proof. Sideplate is marked with the Mauser banner logo, followed by a German Eagle/M Kriegsmarine proof. Metal components exhibit what appears to be a Norwegian arsenal reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece flat checkered wood wrap around grip. Left side of grip has been slightly cutaway, with a brass screw having been added to the safety catch release and frame. All serialized parts are matching, and include the frame, sideplate, slide, and bbl. Frame and slide are also matching via the Norwegian police # "4692". MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning, some superficial handling marks, as well as some areas of light to mild pitting beneath the bluing. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered areas of dark pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grip shows some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-307/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,000.
