SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 417399k. Bbl. 3 1/8". PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther towards the end of World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Slide exhibits a plum colored finish, with the Dural frame exhibiting a black finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece checkered black synthetic wrap around grip. Slide features a grooved matte rib, with a fixed blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame and slide. MAGS: 1 blued 7-rd. with black synthetic grip extension. Left side of the mag. is marked with the Walther banner logo and an over-stamped cal. designation. Cal. originally read "Cal. 9 m/m" and was over-stamped "Cal. 7.65 m/m". CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory finishes, exhibiting areas of light to mild thinning and some light superficial handling marks overall. Front grip strap exhibits moderate thinning that shows through to gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting what appears to be some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some mild warping, some smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-325/MLW).
