Cal. 10 Ga., 2 7/8" S# 11209. The 28" two stripe Damascus bbls. w/ concave matted rib have LC Smith Syracuse, NY markings on tops. Bbl. flats are marked w/ S# & Grade. Bbls. are fitted w/ early style extractor system. Case hardened top lever action has all correct marks on water table & features usual LC Smith rotary bolt locking system & 3 screw bar locks w/ tall hammers. Action & locks are engraved w/ sm. sprays of scroll w/ inline borders. "L.C.SMITH" is at the front of each lock plate. Trigger guard w/ scroll on bow has S# on tang. Capped long pistol grip buttstock of well figured European? walnut measures 13 5/8" over serrated hard rubber buttplate. Left side of stock has signature "J. A. Stafford". Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend w/ inlet ebony tip has J spring release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: BORE DIAMETER: Right .791", Left .792". RESTRICTION: Right .008" (IC), Left .008" (IC). Min. WALL THICKNESS: Right .038", Left .038", STOCK: LOP: 13 5/8". DAC: 1 3/4". DAH: 2 7/8". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: good. Bbls. retaining most of what appears to their original brown w/ fair definition to pattern. Action & locks retain a considerable amount, perhaps as much as 30% of original case hardened color, but quite dirty & need cleaning. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original finish. Checkering considerably worn, especially on forend. Buttplate refitted & has chip at heel. Bores are pitted & relatively rough. Bbls. most likely shortened from 30". Action is tight. Locks are good.
