DOUBLE SHOTGUN COMPLETELY RESTORED. Cal. 10 Ga., 2 7/8". S# 6794. The 30" damascus barrels are engraved "D. M. Lefever MAKER and PATENTEE SYRACUSE NY" on concave game rib with square shouldered dolls head extension. S# is on bottom of left barrel. Early type Lefever action with push forward thumb piece opener on top tang has cocking lever on left side. Action engraved with sprays of well cut scroll within geometric borders which surrounds well detailed dog scenes with pointer at rear of left lockplate, pointing setter at center of right plate and a spaniel retrieving a bird on trigger guard bow. Maker's name and address are at the front of each lockplate. There are no grade markings on action or barrels but this engraving coverage approximates that found on known "C" quality guns of this era. Steel capped pistol grip buttstock of well marbled European walnut measures 14 3/8" over 3/4" thick LACo embossed buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching splinter forend has push button release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .786. R .784. Restriction: L .028 (Mod). R .018 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .042. R .048. STOCK: DAH: 2-5/8". DAC: 1-5/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-3/8". WEIGHT: 9 lb. 8 oz. CONDITION: fine as completely refinished with good quality rebrown on barrels and bone case hardening color on action and other metal parts. All engraving is somewhat softened but still clear. Buttstock has oil refinish, checkering recut, forend wood appears to be new. All of these restored finishes have only a few minor marks. Bores are polished, shiny over some scattered pitting.
