Cal. 41. S# 421. Bbl. 4". 6 1/2" Overall. Standard configuration of unusual dbl. hammer for superposed loads. These guns were marketed early in the war as having a lot of fire power in a little pistol & 2 shots from a single bbl. Bbl. housing is finely engraved w/ 5 line maker's mark & lg. engraved patriotic panel w/ flags, eagle, lion & NY state seal. Additional patent marks are found on bottom of bbl. CONDITION: very good overall. Bbl. retains traces of original blue. Engraving on brass frame is sharp. Left grip has chipping at toe. Bbl. is slightly loose at interface w/ brass frame. Mechanically, pistol still functions when cocked, first trigger pull drops right hammer, igniting forward charge & second trigger pull drops left hammer igniting rear charge.
