MODEL RIFLE. Cal. 22S. S# 569175A. Very few of these rifles were produced w/ all parts nickel plated. This rifle is in standard configuration w/ 24" octagon bbl. & tubular mag. having usual Winchester nomenclature on top left flat at center w/ cal. Bbl. is fitted w/ pressed rear sight w/ 1901 patent date & bead front. Winchester proof is at rear & on receiver ring. Typical takedown action has Winchester markings on top tang. S# is on bottom, matching that on bottom of action. Plain American walnut stock has crescent butt. Slide handle is grooved. CONDITION: fine. All metal parts retaining approx. 90% original nickel plate. Most surfaces show freckling & minor lifting. Bottom of Mag. tube is nearly all worn through to gray brown patina. Stocks retain most of an old oil refinish w/ open grain. Shiny bore is considerably pitted. Mechanically good. (22-1854). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
