Cal. 380. S# SAP3801552. Bbl. 5". RPB's entry into the "Micro Mac" semiautomatic pistol market was the tiny M11-A1, open bolt pistol, chambered in .380 ACP. It was designated the M11-A1 so as not to be confused with their popular 9mm M11 Submachine Gun. RPB M11-A1 serial numbers range from 380006 to 38011661. The semiautomatic variants were marked with the prefix SAP (semi auto pistol) or SAC (semi-automatic carbine). While the traditional MAC 10 or even the 9mm M-11 were generally considered "boxey or chunky" in design, the M11-A1 was similar in size to the Colt 1911, though not quite as ergonomic in design. The suppressor users enjoyed the M11-A1s since the 380 ammo was already subsonic, just like the 45ACP, and provided a very low sound signature when fired. Dark gray, parkerized finish. Protected post front sight. Rear peep sight is a hole drilled in the rear receiver extension to coincide with the front sight. Slotted charging knob provides an unobstructed view. The action is locked by rotating the charging knob 90 degrees in the closed position. Safety is located on the right side of the receiver, inside the trigger guard. Threaded barrel with safety strap hanger. MAGS: 1 steel 30 rd. CONDITION: Finish is complete & consistent, with some light thinning on high spots and in areas of mechanical intervention. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: the lifelong collection of Terrance McCarty. (24-118/JZ). MODERN. $500-900.
