Cal. 9mm Bergmann. S# 13938. Bbl. 4". The Bergmann 1908 pistol was only produced in limited numbers from 1908-1910. This standard production pistol has a 4" bbl. with a fixed front sight and a notched rear sight. Left side of bbl. extension is marked with a patent reference, followed by a 3-line address reflecting its mfg. in Herstal-Liege. On the left side of the frame is the large mounted knight logo surmounting "BAYARD". Full S# "13938" is marked on the forward frame extension. Usual Belgian proofs on top of the bolt, right side of bbl., bbl. extension, and frame. Fitted with matching wood grips with impressed circular checkering surmounting a diagonal band of checkering, each internally stamped with the full S#. Model 1910 detachable mag. (S# 7495), released from inside the trigger guard, with 2-indicator holes surmounting a focus of concentric circles, and detachable floorplate. MAGS: 1 6-rd. CONDITION: generally good with much of the original rust blue surface toning to brown. Many of the in-the-white parts including exposed portions of the bolt, hammer, trigger, and mag. release with moderate gray/brown staining. Extractor bowed. VG original condition mag. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. One of the scarcer Bergmann pistols seldom offered for sale. (25-3435/LMA). CURIO. $2,250-3,500.
