This bayonet was manufactured for the Polish Mauser rifle in 1939 by F.B. Radom in a last effort to prepare for the expected German invasion at the dawn of WWII. The bayonet’s overall length is 16 1/4" with a 9 7/8" blade. The darkened blade has a single fuller and is stamped at the ricasso "FB RADOM" and "(crest) 1939". Darkened hilt with a 2-piece wooden grip. Metal scabbard with a black leather frog that has a partially visible maker’s mark and is dated 1940. CONDITION: blade appears to have seen some sharpening, though most of the darkened finish remains. Hilt shows light wear. Scabbard has an oxidized finish. Frog is solid but shows flexing.
