ALL METAL FLINTLOCK BELT PISTOL. Cal. 56. NSN. 11 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 7 1/4" smoothbore w/ ringed breech having Birmingham proofs & maker’s cartouche “IW” (John Waters). Scottish Highlander Regimental style all metal ram’s head butt w/ 4 1/2" belt hook. Unbridled frizzen, flat unsupported serpentine cock. REFERENCE: George Neumann’s: “Battle Weapons of the American Revolution”, pg. 246 shows identical example. CONDITION: very good overall, medium mustard patina to frame, mottled gray to bbl., lock & hammer, mechanically fine w/ smooth pitted bore.
