SHOTGUN SHELL CRATE. The Robin Hood Ammunition company was started in 1898 & moved to Swanton, VT in 1909. During WWI, the company & factory was bought by Remington-UMC & produced 8MM Lebel ammunition along side their Berthier & Rolling Block firearms contracts. After the Armistice, the company business closed down as demand contracted. This 15" x 10" x 7" wooden ammo crate has sides dovetail attached & bottom floor nailed to side. This crate was to hold black powder 12 Ga. ammunition. CONDITION: top portion of box is missing cutting into markings on sides of crate. Otherwise good overall condition w/ grain checks & moderate handling marks. Markings appear clear. (02-16599-7/MD). $200-400.
