SEMI-AUTO M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 1735916. Bbl. 18", marked behind front sight "ROCK-OLA". Flip type rear sight marked "S" w/ "BR" on both sight base & aperture. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Rock-Ola Music Co. produced M1 carbines between November 1942 & May 1944. The changeover from producing musical equipment to firearms was slow in starting. Narrow bbl. band marked "UR". Stamped swing swivel. Straight cut slide marked "ROCK-OLA". Flat bolt marked "ROCK-OLA". Milled Rock-Ola trigger guard w/ push button safety. Mag. catch marked "A-R". Straight hammer marked "KR". High wood oval cut walnut buttstock marked "RMC" in sling slot. Has dbl. stamped "P" under grip. Walnut handguard marked "RMC" w/ 2 rivets. MAGS: 1-15 rd. marked "R-O". CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish accounting for loss of wood around buttplate & dbl. stamped "P" proof. Buttstock has approx. 4 1/2" fine crack extending forward from front edge of trigger housing. Metal has thinning original finish on receiver & bolt bbl. has dark arsenal reparkerization w/ very light wear. Very good shiny bore. (21-3586/RW). CURIO. $2,250-3,250.
