PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 833747. Bbl. 3 1/4". Model PPK mfg. by Walther for the RZM (Reichs Zeug Meisterei) in 1935. The left side of the slide is marked, with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations, with an "RZM" insignia marked just forward of the slide serrations. Right side of the frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with the chamber area having been cleaned and polished. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece mottled brown Walther banner checkered synthetic wrap around grip. Slide features a matte grooved rib, with a fixed blade front sight and fixed U-notch rear sight. Interior of slide appears to be numbered "7479", which is etched parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 2 blued 7-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster, faintly ink stamped "Walther/ PPK" on the interior of the closure flap, above several lined out handwritten sections of text. Side flap appears to be a replacement, and is marked with a Akah makers mark and what appears to be a spurious "RZM" proof. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light wear and a few superficial handling marks, with some light pitting present beneath the bluing. Bore exhibits consistent moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grip show some age related warping, some light smoothing, as well as some superficial marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light to mild age related cracking and crazing. (24-6835/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,000.
