PISTOL. Cal. 32 ACP. S# 246. Bbl. 3 1/2". 1 of only 957 .32 Auto chambered semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Smith & Wesson. The left side of the slide is marked "SMITH & WESSON", with S&W's mfg. and patent information marked across the top, and "32 AUTO. CTG" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the S&W trademark logo, with "MADE IN U.S.A." on the right. Right side of frame is faintly etched "BL3350", with "1578334" light etched on the left. Front grip strap is marked with the S# "246". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece S&W silver medallion plain wood grips, each retained by a single nickel plated screw. Fixed half-moon blade front sight and square notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide (interior), breechblock (underside), as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 blued 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing areas of light to mild edge wear, with some scattered spots of light pitting. Right side of slide exhibits an area of light wear and pitting, with a spot of oxidative etching. Rear grip strap shows light thinning. Bright bore, exhibiting a few spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips show a few scattered handling marks and minor impressions, but otherwise present nicely. Right grip panel exhibits a crack at the bottom of the screw escutcheon, which runs to the bottom of the butt. A nice example of a scarce Smith & Wesson .32 Auto semi-automatic pistol. (25-3531/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
