Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 12". Round blade front sight. Rear sight leafs are not present. Scarce Maynard primer pistol made for shoulder stock w/ only 4,021 made between 1855-57. No shoulder stock present. Rear of lock has 1855 date. Other lock markings not visible due to pitting. Rear of bbl. has Springfield eagle & "VP" proofs. Bbl. also has 1855 date. Hammer is functional but appears weak when hand cycled. Primer door is also loose when hammer is cocked. Walnut stock w/ brass furniture & lanyard ring present on grip frame. Grip frame has number "1" at rear. Ramrod present. CONDITION: sanded stock has added finish w/ repaired crack around grip frame & a few other cracks. Stock otherwise shows a few gouges, scattered dings & handling marks. Brass parts are a light yellow color w/ scattered dings & oxidation. Balance of metal is a light gray that appears cleaned long ago w/ scattered dings, oxidation & pitting. Oxidized bore. (01-24282/MJC). ANTIQUE. $800-1200.
