SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL INSCRIBED TO HEINZ RENNINGHOFF. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 241595p. Bbl. 3 7/8". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther circa. 1942. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of the slide is engraved "Heinz Renninghoff" (beneath what appears to be touch up bluing) above the S#. Right side of the frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Slide exhibits a polished blue finish, with the Dural frame exhibiting a black anodized finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black plastic grips. Slide features a matte grooved rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: slide retains the majority of its original blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear, with some freckling and an area of mild to moderate pitting present on the right side. Trigger appears to be reblued. Frame is good, showing some light wear and thinning, with the front strap's finish having been stripped and now being in-the-white. Mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the safety lever / decocker. Grips show some light wear and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-4255/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
