PISTOL. Cal. 4 (26.5mm rifled). S# 8941h. Matching number of frame & bbl. Bbl. 6 1/8" rifled. Marked w/ prominent "Z" on left side of bbl. These interesting tip-up single shot pistols were designed to fire regular cal. 4 flares & signal ammunition as well as pre-rifled signal cartridges & grenades for close combat. Bbl. is rifled w/ 5 grooves. Though not fitted w/ sights, a spirit level sight could be attached for precise aiming. Right bbl. flat has 2 "eagle / 559" & marked w/ eagle over an upside-down heart enclosing a fir tree, the civil test approval for the area of Zella-Mehlis. Frame is marked on left side w/ "ac41", the Walther production code 1941. Right side of frame has the eagle & heart w/ eagle "356" & "359". Brown composite checkered grips. Lanyard ring in butt. CONDITION: pistol retains approx. 50% of its worn black anodized finish w/ numerous small handling marks. Grips have light wear & flattened diamonds. Very good bore w/ prominent lands. (02-22961/RW).
