SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 38 ACP. S# 66389. Bbl. 5". 1 of only 930 Model 1910 pistols chambered in .38 ACP mfg. by Webley & Scott. The left side of the slide is marked with (appearing to be poorly stamped) Webley & Scott's winged bullet logo above "W&S", followed by Webley's mfg. information above "38 AUTOMATIC PISTOL". Slide, frame, and bbl. exhibit small British commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger and safety/slide release lever, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece brown checkered vulcanite grips. Butt of right grip panel is marked "C 505". Left side of frame features a lanyard ring plate, which is mounted beneath the grip. Fixed blade front sight, with dovetailed square notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide. Bbl. is mis-matched (S# "458"). MAGS: 1 nickel plated 8-rd. with 7 transverse indicator holes. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original high polish blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as spots/areas of light surface oxidation and pitting. Grip straps and bbl. exhibit a mottled dark gray patina. In-the-white parts show scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, while retaining worn, but discernible rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. A rare example of a Webley & Scott Model 1910 chambered in .38 ACP. (25-3568/MLW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
