SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 61722. Bbl. 16" tapered round. Pinned blade front sight w/ carbine leaf rear sight. Action has saddle ring on left side. Blue finished bbl w/ case colored action & buttplate. Replacement plain rounded tip walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ steel carbine buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, "Serial number applied on March 08, 1893 / Type: Carbine / Caliber: 44 WCF / Barrel Length: 16 inches / Trigger: Plain / Received in warehouse on January 26, 1895 / Shipped from warehouse on January 26, 1895, Order number 6210". CONDITION: beautifully restored carbine retaining nearly all reblued & re-case colored finish. Very good open grain wood finish showing spot of finish loss & darkening behind top tang.
