BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 7.65mm (7.65 Argentine). S# 4927f. Bbl. 30 1/2" with jacket. Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1900m. Buttplate & bolt are matching as-arsenal renumbered. Stock number is faint but appears to match. Mag is an Argentine 1891 replacement & has an added number that matches receiver. Bbl. jacket & rear sight are mismatched. Scarce Marlin-Rockwell assembled WW1 Belgian Mauser rifle using H&A parts after the latter's bankruptcy. Metal is mix of arsenal blue & black enamel finishes. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & leather sling. Cleaning rod present. Rifle has added interwar band with stacking hook. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework appearance with added dark oil finish, some chipping behind upper tang, a further chip at front of cleaning rod channel, some flaking, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 50% finishes with scattered flaking enamel on bbl. jacket, some moderate dents on bbl. jacket, a spot of touch up blue over an expert repair on left side of front sight assembly, a few spots of light pitting, some dings, & scattered fading to gray. Mag body not fitting well & may require attention to function. Bolt functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore with some light frosting but strong rifling. (25-223/MJC).
