Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 8023c. Bbl. 19 1/4". Blade front sight without hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1000m. Mismatched numbers throughout but bolt body & stock are of correct G33/40 type. Receiver top has "dot 1942" marking denoting mfr. by Waffen Werke Brunn I in 1942. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with kick plate & left side sling provisions. Rear band, band spring & cleaning rod missing. CONDITION: stock set shows a few notable cracks on handguard, a few abrasions, scattered dings, flaking & handling marks. Metal retains 40% blue with overall fading to gray, the floorplate having a silvery-gray appearance, a couple small spots of light pitting, some scattered light dings, oxidation & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore has scattered light pitting & oxidation but strong rifling. (25-474/MJC). CURIO. $2000-3000.
