CASE. Overall length of stiletto: 12 5/8". Blade length: 7 3/8". Scabbard: 20 1/4". A scarce example of the Case V-42 stiletto that was developed in 1943 as a commando type weapon by Case. The blued spear point blade has a medial ridge for approx. 6". There are thumb grooves on the ricasso & “CASE” is stamped below the thumb groove. There is a darkened steel crossguard with leather on top. Stacked leather washer grip with skull crusher pommel. Original brown leather full-length scabbard with lanyard grommet at the base & reinforced throat. An extremely rare & historic fighting knife of WWII. CONDITION: blade has nearly all blued finish intact. Hilt shows light wear overall. Scabbard also shows light wear and the snap ring is intact. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E.
