SMITH & WESSON REVOLVER WITH CASE. Cal. 32 RF. S# 1273. Most patent infringements were made in Belgium, this good quality revolver is British made and proofed. Top rib of 3 1/4" octagon barrel is engraved "C. Ingram, Glasgow". A small "V" blade rear sight is integral with bolt latch which sweeps up at rear. Hammer profile is lower than any original Smith & Wesson revolver. Unfluted cylinder is six shot. Fully checkered walnut grips are retained in British style with a transverse bar on bottom of grip frame. Frame itself is stamped with S#, as is barrel. Cylinder is unnumbered. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: this interesting revolver is house in what appeared to be its original fancy burl walnut veneered, mahogany case which is lined in blue cloth. No accessories are present, there is one covered compartment with bone knob. CONDITION: good to fine. Barrel retaining over 30% original bright blue. Frame has traces of blue showing were protected but is mostly brown. There are traces of blue on cylinder, hammer retains about half of its temper blue. Grips are good. Bore is good with some scattered pitting. Mechanically good. Case is fine with most of its original exterior finish, interior cloth is quite good with some rubs. (01-22737/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,000-2,000.
