SLAVERY IN 1854 & SECEDING STATES OF 1861. This large school room map measures approx. 54" x 50". It has 3 main sections to aid in teaching the territorial gains of the United States after the Mexican War, free and slave states in 1854 and the Union and seceding states leading up to the Civil War. Map is full colored and appears to be paper laid onto a cloth backing. There is a wooden roller and pull stick at the bottom, and the map functions like a window shade. An extremely visually impactful map that not only teaches but also has an interesting history itself. CONDITION: map shows minimal wear throughout and does continue to function well. There are some wear spots and a bit of discoloration. (02-16781/BF). $400-600.
