Cal. 8.15/46R. NSN. The 32 3/8" octagon barrel has a matted top flat with a broad dovetail portion at the rear, engraved "SIMON HEIM NURNBERG". Case-hardened dropping block action with removable trigger/firing group, and is marked "D.R.G.M." on top. Rifle is fitted with double-set triggers and the original aperture rear sight; adjustable for windage and elevation with a large disk. Walnut buttstock with case-hardened hook butt, and the high Schutzen cheekpiece has a thumb rest on the right side. Checkering at the grip is accented by an acanthus carving. The matching forend screws to the barrel, and a silver rectangle is tacked to the bottom, which is engraved "Alvis Petrak" and "ROTHENBACH/PEG". CONDITION: very fine; metal retains over 90% of what appears to be original factory finishes. Stocks have some oil rubbed into their original finish over some light marks. Some chipping is evident at the rear along the edge of the buttplate, most noticeable on the right side. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically good. PROVENANCE: from the Harold Prucha Collection.
