REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 28727SA. Bbl. 5 1/2". Second Generation Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1960. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45", with Colt's single line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, closely followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame exhibits a case-color-hardened finish, with the ejector rod housing exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered black plastic grips. No matching S#s are present. S#s on the left side of the trigger guard and rear grip strap have been crossed out. Cyl. is unmarked. Frame and loading gate exhibit matching assembly numbers. Cyl. base pin is a replacement. CONDITION: frame retains trace to fair amounts of its factory case color hardened finish, with the balance exhibiting fading to gray patina with light to mild surface oxidation overall. Ejector rod housing retains fair amounts of its factory blue finish, with the bbl. retaining traces of its factory blue finish. Trigger guard and grip strap have been heavily cleaned and are in-the-white. Bright bore, exhibiting some pitting and oxidation while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some superficial marks and a few chips from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
